In a future where businessman Glendale Bjorkich has replaced human employees with emotionless clones, a man appearing to be the deceased Dr. Rupert Brindon confronts him. After a fatal confrontation in which Bjorkich is killed by his own gun, the man reveals that he is actually a clone of Rupert who uniquely possesses the doctor's original human emotions. He intends to expose Bjorkich's crimes and use his existence to begin humanity afresh.
